Headless Horseman - Thurl Ravenscroft

Busy, busy, busy. School, work, school, work, school, work. And now I have a pretty lady that I call my girlfriend. So, here's a new post, a full month after my last post. But, this one is just in time for my favorite holiday. I just wish I wasn't so busy this year, because it's looking like I won't be doing much this Halloween. We'll see if my work schedule permits. But today's post on WHO IS DRIVING CAR?!? involves some of my favorite things. The song itself comes from Disney's Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad, and the original was performed by Mr. Bing Crosby. The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad has been a favorite or mine for awhile, but I have to admit that I usually pass on the Mr. Toad half of the movie. The ride at Disneyland is awesome, though. The second half of why this song is great is that it's performed in this version by the late Thurl Ravenscroft. If you start listening to the track, you might instantly recognize his voice, and if you check out his resume you'll know why. Some of Thurl Ravenscroft's works include voice work in Cinderella, Alice in Wonderland, Peter Pan, The Glen Miller Story, South Pacific, Sleeping Beauty, The Sword in The Stone, Marry Poppins, The Aristocats, The Cat in The Hat, The Lorax, The Many Adventures of Winnie The Pooh, and The Brave Little Toaster. If nothing from that list rings a bell, then you'll surely know his as the singing voice from You're A Mean One Mr. Grinch, and as the voice of Tony The Tiger. And with a name like Thurl Ravenscroft, how can you not be a cool guy? So, here's Headless Horseman by Thurl Ravenscroft. -Ian Also featured as a singing voice and singing bust for the awesome Disney ride The Haunted Mansion
